| Children usually drown in larger bodies of water, such as a pool or lake, but younger children can drown in the bathtub or a bucket of water. Once the child is out of the water, you should activate your local emergency services (this is why it is good to have a phone installed by the pool) and start CPR if necessary. If your child quickly recovers after getting him out of the water, you should still seek medical attention.
To prevent drowning accidents, practice water safety, and do not leave your children unsupervised around any body of water, use life jackets on boats, and keep your pool child proofed.
