Diarrhea
Diarrhea usually accompanies vomiting as part of a viral gastroenteritis. Symptoms will include one or two days of vomiting and frequent loose, watery stools that do not contain blood or mucus. It may take one to two weeks for the diarrhea to finally resolve. See the gastroenteritis treatment guide for more information.

If the diarrhea persists for more than two weeks, or has blood or mucus in it, then your child may have a bacterial or parasitic infection and should be evaluated by your doctor. Also see your doctor if diarrhea is accompanied by high fever.
