Do you know what to do in an emergency if your child isn't breathing or his heart isn't beating?
Even if you have already taken a CPR class, it is easy to forget what you need to do, especially in an emergency situation that involves your own child.
What would you do if:
- your baby is choking on something and is coughing?
- you find your toddler limp and unconscious?
Designed for 'anyone that takes care of children', the Baby & Child CPR video is a great resource that you can easily and quickly watch at home to make sure that you are ready in these kinds of emergencies.
Although not a substitute for taking a CPR class, it can help to make CPR procedures 'second nature' and it is a good 'refresher' even if you have already taken a CPR class. As Dr. Moyer, the narrator, says, 'the better you are prepared, the more likely you will be able to save a child's life.'
The 38 minute Baby & Child CPR video is made up of two basic parts, covering in detail, choking and CPR instructions for infants and children from 1 to 8 years of age. For those people who have taken a CPR class, this information should seem very familiar, as it follows the American Heart Associations Guidelines, which you likely learned in your class.
And the step by step instructions, which are narrated by a doctor and demonstrated by a Captain in the Los Angelas Fire Department, are followed by a nice summary to reinforce the material even more.
In addition to taking a CPR class, the Baby & Child CPR video is something that every parent should have. With the 'hands on experience' you can get in a CPR class, regularly watching this video should help you to feel better prepared if you have to help a choking child or perform CPR.

*Why not 5 stars? I think the video would have been a little better if they had a 'parent' doing the demonstrations, instead of a professional, and if the narration had been done by a professional actor. Still, they did a great job and I highly recommend this video.
