Arthritis
|
| Joint pain without swelling (arthralgia) is common in children, and usually occurs after a viral illness. With arthritis, your child will have joint pain and signs of inflammation, including swelling, redness, fever and the skin over the joint may be warm. Arthritis may be secondary to an infection in the joint (septic arthritis), juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA), or lyme disease. You should see your doctor immediately if your child has joint pain with swelling, especially if it is accompanied by fever.
See our guide to Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis for more information.
